Daak is built to keep your things on your phone. This page says exactly what leaves it, and why.
On your phone only
- Your drafts, photos, field notes, address book, signature and profile photo.
- Trip nudges read where your recent photos were taken, on the phone. Nothing is uploaded.
When you send a daak
- The finished faces of the card (as images), your name and email, the recipient's name and email, the two places, and the delivery time go to our post office (Supabase) so it can be delivered.
- We email the recipient through our mail provider (Resend). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Anyone with a card's link can open it once it has arrived. Journey links you share show the trip only, never the card.
Other services
- Weather along the route: we ask Open-Meteo for the weather at the Daakiya's spot on the route. Your own location is never sent. You can turn this off in Settings.
- Field notes: the photo you choose is sent to our image model provider to make the stamp, then discarded. It is not used for training.
What we don't do
No ads, no tracking, no selling or sharing your data with anyone else.
Your choices
In the app: export everything you have (Settings › Your data), delete everything on the phone, or delete your account, which removes the cards you sent from our post office.
